Tired on a Saturday Afternoon

I’m not gonna lie, not a whole lot has happened. Like I said in my last blog things are starting to feel normal, and that’s a plus but I keep getting a little more homesick every day. Its been 2 and half weeks since I last tasted green chile… Anyway, on Thursday night, me, Heather, Dan, Sadiq, and Lucy went to go see Motion City Soundtrack at this little place in Norwich. And it was freaking amazing! That night I had just found out that I hadn’t gotten cast in either of the two plays I had auditioned for, I had had a long day of school on very little sleep, and we had major issues getting to the venue (which we didn’t realize we had no idea where it was…) BUT seeing them in concert made my night so incredibly much better! I put pictures of it up on my flickr account so you can check ‘em out HERE.

Anyway, Friday was nice and boring, I slept in since I don’t have school and watched the new episode of the Office on the internet. I was going to do laundry because I’m starting to run out of clothes, but apparently everyone here is running out of clean clothes so the launderette (as they call it) has this nice little line to use the 3 washing machines that actually work! Needless to say, I still haven’t done my laundry. :)

Other than that, not a whole lot has happened. I think me and my flat mates are going into Norwich tonight to go get some dinner and go bowling or something. It should be slightly entertaining but I think I might need to take a nap or something before I head out. I had to be at the drama studio at 11 this morning and I finished reading the play I was supposed to be familiar with at about 3:30 am. I have to do this scene for my acting class on Wednesday and I finally got the script last night.

Oh, and this whole pay-as-you-go cell phone thing is a royal pain. I ran out of credit minutes or money or whatever you call it, and I can’t use my debit card to buy more minutes until I talk to a customer service rep and register my card, but their “system has been down” for the past day and half so I can’t send any text messages or make any phone calls or even check my voice mail until the freaking customer service reps get their system up and running again! And I must say, my hatred for customer service people is growing. They follow a script so they can’t just talk to you like a normal person, so when you say things like, “Yeah, I need to register my debit card so that I can top up the minutes on my phone”, they don’t just say “ok, let me help you!” … no, no, they say, “Ok, so what I’m getting from you is that you need to register your debit card so that you can top up the minutes on your cell phone, is that right?” and I just want to yell YES! But that would be rude… so when they said they’re system wasn’t working, I didn’t wait for the overly long apology followed by “can I help you with anything else today?”, I just hung up. Twice.
